Time for myself

Saying that I never have time for myself is somewhat misleading. Almost every day of the week I wake up around 5:30am, or hit the snooze until 6, to start my day off with a swim, bike, or a run (depending on that days workout). During most of those times, I am by myself. But it's not what you would call a relaxing time for yourself. Sometimes I just want to be able to sit at my computer and read online articles, pay my bills, analyze my workout stats, blog, peruse current eBay items (haha), you know, the fun stuff. But I never really get a chance for that.

Today I decided to do something different. :-)

First of all, I didn't hit snooze as many times as I usually do. I arrived at the Blacksburg Aquatic Center earlier than normal. I was showered and ready for the day by 7:30, which by most days is a miracle. Normally that time is around 8:30. So today, I thought I would *treat* myself to breakfast at Our Daily Bread while reading my morning batch of emails.

I noticed last week that the bakery boasted about having wireless internet. I thought that it would be a great idea to come in and have a cup of coffee while going through the normal morning procedures. And so far, it has been an awesome experience.

The very friendly baker made me an egg sandwich on their freshly made non-fat, whole wheat bread. (Whether not it's truly non-fat, is beyond me.) The lady made my sandwich without hesitation and poured my cup of coffee. I also purchased a small piece of their Lemon Almond Biscotti....I highly recommend this!! So I have been sitting at one of their oversized booths and have been catered to from the moment I have stepped through the door. I wish that I could afford this experience every day.

If you are ever in need of a great place to have your morning coffee and/or breakfast, I definitely recommend Our Daily Bread.
